The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) will convene the fifth annual research conference around the theme, Connecting Research, Policy and Practice from Monday, June 28, through Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. The conference brings together grant and contract recipients conducting a wide array of education research funded by IES and the U.S. Department of Education.
More than 1,000 researchers from around the country attended the 2009 conference. Attendees participated in 21 panel and open forum sessions, viewed almost 500 poster presentations, and enjoyed many opportunities for dialogue and collaboration.
Planning for the 2010 conference is under way. The program format will include plenary sessions, grantee meetings, concurrent panel sessions, a welcome reception, and poster sessions. The site for this year's conference, The Gaylord at National Harbor, offers the newest resort destination in the national capital region. Plan to bring your family and arrive several days before the conference, or stay a few days after, to enjoy all the National Harbor and Washington, DC area has to offer.
