Time: 3:00 - 4:30PM EST
Location: Online Webinar: http://bit.ly/preschool-sped
Description: This event offers participants the opportunity to learn about the current status of IDEA Part B 619 and Part C data systems across the country. For instance, some of the major findings included the following: (a) states vary in the kinds of workforce data they have in state data systems; (b) only about one-third of states have linked data across Part C and 619; (c) there is infrequent use of common identifiers across Part C and 619; (d) linkages with K-12 education data are more common for Part B 619 than for Part C; and (e) for Part C, few states have linkages with other early childhood data, while for Part B 619, almost half have linkages with state pre-k.
After learning about the results, participants will have the opportunity to hear directly from state Part B 619 Coordinators and state Part B data managers who will present various perspectives and discuss some of their key challenges. The state staff, or “discussants”, will provide the context for understanding the results and serve as exemplars to Florida and other states in the Southeast region for developing a comprehensive and integrated data system. Discussants will include state staff from the following non-REL Southeast states: Connecticut and Missouri. The webinar will conclude with a question and answer session where all participants will be encouraged to ask or submit questions.
Research Alliance: School Readiness Research Alliance
Audience: The primary audience for the Bridge Webinar will include Alliance members, participants from the Integrated Early Childhood Longitudinal Data System workshop sponsored by the REL Southeast in October 2014, DaSy clientele, and district and state personnel involved in early childhood data use across the Southeast region.
