First Release Conference—2007 NICHD-NCES Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Birth Cohort (ECLS-B). On May 8-10, 2007, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) will be sponsoring a 3-day ECLS-B First Release Conference. Organized jointly by National Institute of Health (NIH) and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the purpose of the conference will be to provide an opportunity for investigators to share research findings using data from the 9-month and 2-year ECLS-B data collections. NIH and NCES staff will jointly serve as moderators to the speakers and paper discussants for the conference. If you are interested in submitting a paper, the abstract deadline is September 1, 2006. Papers that focus on child health outcomes of ethnic minorities, low birth weight and very low birth weight births, cognitive development, and twins are particularly encouraged.
